Swiss technology company Sportradar has been announced as the new official betting partner of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). The agreement is concluded by the parties for 8 years.
As part of the partnership, Sportradar will be granted exclusive rights to use, license and distribute USSF media and sports betting data.
The financial side of the agreement is not disclosed, but it is known that each year the Swiss company will have 111 matches at its disposal, including games of the men’s and women’s national teams, as well as some of the largest soccer tournaments in the country – the U.S. Open Cup and the international women’s SheBelieves Cup.
In addition, Sportradar will be granted the right to provide online broadcasts of U.S. competitions to betting companies outside the United States. Providing broadcasts to bookmakers within state borders remains prohibited due to the fact that the Federation already has contracts with American TV channels WBD Sports and Telemundo.
In turn, the Swiss side will provide the USSF with services aimed at improving the integrity and transparency of the sports betting system in the country, as well as using its technology to implement a number of measures to detect and combat betting fraud.
It should be noted that negotiations on the possibility of an agreement between the USSF and Sportradar began last fall, and the previous betting partner of the US Soccer Federation was the company Stats Perform.
